Advertising & Sales Promotion Specialist Performs a wide variety of activities to advertise and promote the sale of organizations's products or services. Works with advertising agencies to create a variety of publicity methods. Responsibilities may also include preparing displays, staffing, and participating in trade shows. Sometimes directs and trains less experienced advertising and sales promotion employees. This is an intermediate position usually requiring an associate degree in advertising and 2-4 years related experience.

Advertising/Promotion Manager
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities to advertise and promote sale of organization's products or services. Utilizes a variety of publicity methods. Oversees preparation of all advertisements. Responsibilities may also include setting up and staffing exhibits for trade shows or conventions. Typically requires a four year degree plus 5-7 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.

Customer Service Manager
Oversees the activities of Customer Service Representatives or sales order processing staff. Develops customer service policies and procedures to ensure consistent customer service and satisfaction. Troubleshoots and resolves non-routine customer complaints. Resolves major problems with orders, delivery dates or service. Usually requires a degree and 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Customer Service Representative
Responds to customer requests and questions regarding service, products and account information. Analyzes and rectifies customer concerns using established procedures. May use computer to access and/or update customer records. Typically requires 6-12 months experience with company procedures, products and services.

Customer Service Supervisor
Directs the activities of Customer Service Reps (CSR's) to ensure customer satisfaction and company profitability. Oversees policies and procedures to ensure on-time delivery. Supervises and trains CSR's. May help with catalogs and other publications. Usually requires a degree and 3-5 years related experience.

Director of Marketing & Sales
Oversees development of policies, procedures and objectives for marketing and selling the organization's products and services. Oversees product/service development, pricing, marketing budgets, and sales objectives. Directs sales force, marketing staff and/or distributors. Provides marketing expertise to executive management team. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience or equivalent.

District Sales Manager
Oversees the sale of an organization's products or services in a specified district. Sources and selects dealers and other distributors. Sometimes has responsibility for warehousing or other distribution facilities. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 1-3 years related experience.

General Sales Manager
Plans, organizes, implements sales programs for the organization. Plans and is responsible for achieving overall sales objectives. Oversees inside and/or outside sales representative or distributors. Oversees handling of key accounts. Coordinates budgets, forecasts and reports on product and pricing trends. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 5-8 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Market Research Analyst
Gathers and examines information relating to the sale of company products. Conducts market research using a variety of techniques such as surveys and comparison to competitors' product. Analyzes factors such as pricing, distribution, and product performance. Provides statistical reports and recommendations to management and assists with the development of plans for marketing. May use computer modeling techniques. Usually requires 3-5 years related experience.

Market Research Manager
Manages market research activities to provide information relating to sales potential and market conditions for an organization's products or services. Directs the investigation of trends and market developments and the analysis of sales records. Provides marketing recommendations to management.

Marketing Assistant
Supports the development and distribution of marketing and sales materials. Assists in production of advertising, marketing brochures, sales kits or other promotional materials. May write articles and design layouts. Usually requires a 2 year degree and 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Usually requires a 4 year degree and 4-6 years relevant experience.


Public Relations Manager
Oversees the representation of a positive organizational image to the general public, clients, shareholders and the community. Oversees preparation and dissemination of press releases and articles and coordinates media events. Directs the writing, editing and publishing of organizational publications including stockholder materials. May supervise public relations staff. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Public Relations Specialist
Assists in providing a positive organizational image to the general public, clients, shareholders and the community. Prepares press releases and articles. May write, edit and publish organizational publications. Usually requires 2-4 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Regional Sales Manager
Plans, organizes, implements sales programs for the region. Plans and is responsible for achieving sales objectives in the region. Trains, develops, and mentors inside and/or outside sales representatives or distributors for the region. Coordinates budgets, forecasts, and reports. Oversees handling or may handle key accounts. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 3-5 years relevant experience or equivalent.

Research and Development Manager
Manages research and development programs and activities to facilitate introduction of new products or processes or recommend improvements to existing products or processes.

Sales Assistant
Performs clerical and administrative support duties for a sales office or department. Prepares and distributes various sales reports. Maintains files, schedules appointments and may make travel arrangements. Sometimes assists Customer Service and handles inquiries about products or services. Uses a personal computer and various software packages.


Sales Representative - Inside Sales
Provides customers with product or service information to assist them in determining appropriate merchandise to purchase. Recommends additional products or services to meet customer needs. May arrange special orders, delivery or installation. May conduct cashier transactions or restock merchandise if needed. Usually requires 1 year experience with organizational products and services.
Vice President of Marketing Oversees all marketing activities for an organization's products and/or services. Develops marketing strategies, evaluates market conditions and recommends policy changes to encourage maximum sales activity. Usually requires a 4 year degree and 10 years related experience.

Vice President of Sales Develops, manages, and guides sales activities for the organization. Proposes and executes policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential for products and/or services. Designs and applies the sales strategy and sales plan. Usually requires a college degree and 7-8 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
