Job Purpose:

The Connect ROTAsia Educational Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, implementing, monitoring and evaluating training programs and educational projects, with an online focus, for the Connect ROTAsia program.

The Connect ROTAsia Educational Specialist is responsible for assisting the Head of Connect ROTAsia with developing, implementing and evaluating program components and also performs related work as required to ensure the success of the program.

The Connect ROTAsia Educational Specialist assists other ROTA program areas to build and support educational capacity building of local communities in Qatar and in ROTA focal countries.

Key Result Areas:

- To develop, implement, monitor and evaluate training programs and workshops, applicable to professional development for educators and online collaborative projects, in a K-12 educational setting and involving higher education when applicable both in Qatar and other ROTA focal countries.

- To develop, implement, monitor and evaluate educational projects and content for a K-12 educational setting and involving higher education when applicable both in Qatar and other ROTA focal countries.

- To work in collaboration with other ROTA program departments to provide consultancy and to monitor and evaluate the programs as necessary both in Qatar and in other ROTA focal countries.

- To promote capacity building through training programs and other methods as necessary in local communities within Qatar and ROTA focal countries.

- To develop new program components, including researching, compiling and analyzing supporting data, and upon approval of the Connect ROTAsia Manager, implements program changes and/ or additions.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

- Educational Qualification: Bachelor degree in education related field

- Experience: 5 years minimum experience in the field of education (preferably K-12 educational environment). Thorough knowledge and working experience of the K-12 educational environment, online global education projects and professional development programs and training for educators.

- Technology Skills:

* Broad and competent working knowledge of and experience with ICT as used in educational settings (not necessary to have technical ICT knowledge).

* Intermediate computer literacy is essential including Windows operating, MS Office, Internet Literacy i.e. forums, chat, web browsing

- Professionalism: Sound knowledge of and exposure to a range of international organizations, to include approaches and techniques to address difficult problems; ability to identify issues and to use sound judgment in applying technical expertise to resolve a wide range of problems; strong research skills, including ability to evaluate and integrate information from a variety of sources.

- Communications: Good communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to draft/edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas in a confident, clear and concise style. The ability to confidently design, plan and deliver workshops for educators and presentations to various stakeholders within the community.

- Language: Fluent spoken and written English. Good spoken and written Arabic preferred.

- Beneficiary oriented: Focuses on result for the beneficiary and responds positively to feedback.

- Planning & Organizing: Strong project management skills. With the ability to plan own work, manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure of tight and conflicting deadlines. The ability to design, plan and organize efficiently training, workshops, reporting and other tasks.

- Teamwork: Very good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
