Waiter / Waitress Reporting to: Restaurant Manager Job Description: 1. Maintains complete knowledge • All food product served in the restaurant • All menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation and prices. • Dining room layout, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code. 2. Inspects table set-ups; checks for cleanliness, neatness and agreement to departmental standards; rectifies deficiencies with respective personnel 3. Checks the pick-up station and side stations, ensuring agreement to standards of cleanliness, supply of stock and organization 4. Anticipates guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whenever time of day. Promote positive guest relations at all time 5. Greets and seats guests ensures their comfort at the table 6. Maintains table culture and restaurant ambiance at all times 7. Suggests changes in menu items or service procedures, as per guest feedback or perceived need 8. Assists bar staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests 9. Performs all necessary tasks to serve Food & Beverage according to the service standards and operating manuals of the Restaurant Skills Required: • Good communicator – able to speak and write in Arabic and English languages • High organizational, planning and delegating skills • Computer skills are important and familiar with POS systems • Leadership and organizational skills • Ability to ensure adherence to standards, policies and procedures • Ability to focus attention to details • Ability to suggestively sell menu items • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties
