Irrigation Expert in Iraq

SGI is looking for an Irrigation Expert for an important assignment in the field of water resources planning/management and land use in Iraq. This assignment implies the expert’s long-term presence in the project area (at least a year). Therefore the applicant should be available to spend most of the assigned man-months in Iraq. The applicant’s security will be under SGI’s responsibility.
The applicant shall have University degree in water resources/irrigation engineering, minimum of 10 years experience in the water resources/irrigation projects, preferably if developed in arid/semi-arid regions.
The applicant is expected to have a significant track record in design, programming, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures concerning large irrigation projects.
He/she shall be proficient in English language. Knowledge of Arabic will be considered an asset. He/she shall have good interpersonal and written communication skills and full computer proficiency.
